BIM 360 Docs & Design

Autodesk BIM 360 Docs is cloud-based construction document management software that allows you to share, view, markup, and manage your construction drawings, documents, and models. BIM 360 Design (formerly Collaboration for Revit) is an online software platform that gives you real-time Revit cloud worksharing. BIM 360 Design requires BIM 360 Docs as a platform, so BIM 360 Design users will require all of the content listed below. If you are only using BIM 360 Docs, you will only require a half-day workshop.

Course content for BIM 360 Docs & Design:

Part 1

• Autodesk License Account Manager – what to look out for when cloud work-sharing
• Understand and set privileges, set up a project
• Add and remove members
• Edit role rights and manage members
• Ensure correct services are added for both document management and design collaboration
• Add a team so you can show that team on the timeline
• Edit the project profile
• Work with plans, create project files, create sets
• Allow easy, yet controlled, transfer of information from design to construction
• Reduce rework risks by keeping everyone working from the current document set
• Understand the most useful tools for keeping the entire project team in sync and informed

Part 2

• Create a set in Revit
• Publish from within Revit to BIM 360
• Co-author Revit models concurrently with other users utilising cloud-based worksharing
• Manage models, select which model is the master model
• Develop best practices for cloud-based worksharing – when to sync, publish
• Understand timelines and companies as they relate to your BIM 360 Design project
• Understand symbols and their meanings
• Visualise changes between design versions in packages and work-in-progress designs
• Create and share a package
• Explore and consume a package
• Create a design issue
• View added, deleted, and modified elements, and filter by disciplines affected
• Look up specific elements using keyword search
• Make the best use of design review tools to quickly address design issues
