Save money by only paying for what you use
Autodesk Flex: A New Way to Purchase Your Autodesk Licences
Autodesk recently announced changes to the way you can purchase licences for certain products, to evolve with customer’s ever-changing business needs.

What is Autodesk Flex?
Autodesk Flex enables customers to pay for their licences on a pay as you go basis. Designed to provide flexibility for users who only need occasional access to Autodesk software, Autodesk Flex allows you to pay a daily rate for your software use, as opposed to purchasing a longer-term subscription.
How does Autodesk Flex work?
The new pay as you go model introduced by Autodesk works by purchasing a pre-defined number of tokens for your occasional users. Whether you are starting a new project or are hiring a temporary staff member, Autodesk Flex Tokens are flexible to meet a variety of business needs. Each product has a different daily token amount.
With Autodesk Flex, you’ll only be charged a daily rate once every 24 hours when a user opens a product. Once the product is closed, the token charges will stop.
To get started, all you need to do is purchase the relevant amount of Autodesk Flex tokens, assign users, and open your selected product which will automatically use up your purchased tokens. You can then track your token usage & spend.

Should I consider Autodesk Flex?
Whilst the licencing model proposed by Autodesk Flex may provide greater flexibility than the Autodesk subscription model, it’s important to look at how often your users & occasional users are using their Autodesk products.
For instance, if you have users that are accessing their Autodesk software for 7 days or less per month, Autodesk Flex would be a cost-effective option for them. However, if your users are using their Autodesk products more frequently than this eg x2 days a week or more, then it is more cost effective to keep them on a single-user subscription licencing model.
