Symetri sponsors Curtins Civil Engineering and Sustainable Infrastructure Insight Programme

Purpose of the Programme

The Insight programme was established in 2021 as an outcome of the COVID-19 pandemic. Research concluded that over 80% of businesses had cancelled their summer placements for University Students for 2020 and 2021. As a responsible business, Curtins wanted to support students in this difficult time and created the idea of establishing and delivering a virtual Civil Engineering and Sustainable Infrastructure Insight programme over 5 weeks to support graduate skill development and creating social mobility for students across the UK. For 2022, Symetri are delighted to be the headline sponsor of the innovative programme.

The structured training programme is delivered by Curtins, Industry and Symetri experts. The topics that are covered across the programme include:

  • Why infrastructure is so important to society.
  • Technical masterplanning and the project lifecycle.
  • Digital delivery, BIM and the future of the Industry.
  • Sustainability, net zero and our responsibility in engineering design.
  • Your career and Continuous Professional Development.

Symetri are thrilled to be hosting a final workshop with Curtins where we bring all of the students back so they can present to their cohort the outcomes of their group task, which they have been working on throughout the programme, as well as Symetri showcasing our expertise in a masterclass style session.
