Civil 3D Beyond the Basics

This intermediate-level training course is your opportunity to raise your game with your Civil 3D skills. You will learn a broad range of time-saving techniques that will allow you to create project designs more efficiently. These new skills will include using Civil 3D standards, data shortcuts, advanced surface creation, subassembly tools, parts lists and pipe rules, sheet set properties, quantity take-offs, volume calculations, and project visualisation

• Examine a Civil 3D drawing template
• Control and distribute Civil 3D styles and settings
• Understand the three different ways to structure a project
• Understand the data shortcut workflow and its advantages for effective project management
• Add existing contour data to a surface to take advantage of data created by someone else
• Add drawing objects to a surface to improve the accuracy of a TIN model
• Create feature lines and create a new surface from them
• Create a surface from GIS data
• Use subassembly tool palettes, modify assemblies and subassemblies
• Find, identify, and manage assemblies in a project
• Superimpose profiles to help manage complex projects
• Understand why your Parts List and Pipe Rules are your most important settings
• Add a pipe size or structure size to your parts catalogue
• Use rule sets to prioritise how different rules are applied to the same pipe or structure
• Edit sheet and sheet set properties for easy annotations
• Insert Civil 3D multi-view blocks
• Calculate the cost of design by assigning pay items to objects
