AUTODESK CONSTRUCTION CLOUD TRANSITIONED TO FORMA ON 24TH MARCH

The Future Takes Shape: Welcome to Forma

The Industry Is Changing. So Is the Platform.

The design and construction industry is under more pressure than ever. Projects must move faster. Costs continue to rise. Skilled labour is harder to secure. And expectations around efficiency and sustainability are increasing.

In response to these challenges, Autodesk is making bold moves — expanding Autodesk Forma into a more comprehensive, connected platform for the AECO and manufacturing industries.

As Andrew Anagnost, President and CEO of Autodesk, recently shared:

“The choices we make over the next five years will shape our world for the next fifty — and we’re on the knife-edge.”

For our customers, this signals something important: the tools you rely on are evolving to better connect design, construction, manufacturing and operations in one unified environment.

What the Expansion of Forma Means for You

Autodesk Construction Cloud is transitioning to Autodesk Forma, which is growing beyond conceptual design into a more complete, AI-enabled industry cloud. The goal is to to better represent its evolving role as the common data environment (CDE) across the entire AECO lifecycle.

As your Autodesk partner, our role is to help you understand how this evolution impacts your workflows, licenses, integrations, and long-term technology strategy but more importantly, how to turn this shift into a strategic advantage for your business.

Seamless Project Continuity Plan, design, construct, and operate in one connected environment.
Reduced Data Silos Share information effortlessly across teams, disciplines, and project phases.
Smarter, Earlier Decisions Leverage AI insights to make better design and planning choices from day one.
Greater Project Visibility Track progress and performance across the entire lifecycle

No. Your Symetri Technology products—including Naviate Cloud Manager, Naviate Correspondence and Naviate Nebula—will continue to work as normal. Autodesk’s transition from ACC to Forma does not change URLs, logins, workflows, APIs, integrations or data structures, so all existing Symetri Technology integrations remain fully supported.

However, this transition is a great opportunity to get more value from your Symetri tools. As Autodesk moves toward a more connected, data‑driven Forma ecosystem, Naviate’s automation, data management, and workflow‑optimisation capabilities can help you standardise project setup, improve data quality, reduce manual work, and strengthen your overall data strategy — all of which become even more important in the new Forma environment.

  • No changes to URLs, logins, APIs or integrations.
  • No changes to licensing or user provisioning.
  • No changes to workflows or automations setup in ACC.
  • No data migration. All projects, members, settings and data remains as is.

No. The AI Assistant in Autodesk Forma is currently in Beta and cannot be switched off or restricted by project or user. While project access is controlled by project administrators, there are no permissions or settings available at present to disable the AI Assistant. Autodesk may add more controls in future updates.

The change to Forma isn’t just about a rebrand — it’s about aligning people, process and data.

Symetri supports you by:

  • Assessing your current digital maturity
  • Defining how early-stage planning connects to BIM and downstream delivery
  • Structuring workflows between Forma and tools like Autodesk Revit and more
  • Training your teams to adopt new digital planning methods
  • Embedding standards to ensure consistency

Forma is one component of a broader digital journey.

Symetri provides:

  • Digital strategy development
  • BIM implementation and information management consultancy
  • Change management and adoption support
  • Workflow optimisation
  • Integration across Autodesk ecosystems

We guide organisations through complexity — providing clarity, structure and measurable outcomes at each stage of change.

We begin with a discovery conversation.

Together, we assess:

  • Your current planning and feasibility challenges
  • How decisions are made today
  • Gaps between early-stage analysis and delivery
  • Your existing Autodesk or BIM environment

From there, we advise whether Forma is the right solution — and if so, how to implement it effectively.
